P90x Day 60 Review

Well day 60 has officially arrived and I have to say I am feeling pretty fit and healthy.  I started this journey weighing 178lbs.  I currently weigh in at 166lbs.  This is about the weight I graduated high school at!!!  P90x is for real.  I would recommend doing it with a partner for anyone that is going to attempt this program.  There were quite a few days that I woke up and felt like I got hit by a truck but knew my partner would show up for the workout and couldn’t leave him hanging.  If I didn’t have him, I just would not get out of bed.  I am married with two small children so the only time I can get these workouts in is before work while they are asleep.  Generally I get up at 5:30 AM and I will be the first one to tell you that it sucks!!!  I am not what you would call a morning person, but hey, it’s the only time I got so it is what I have to do.  In my last post I was bitching a little bit about not working on the arms enough.  Phase II solved that problem with the back and biceps workout.  Everytime I did that workout my arms were sore for at least 4-5 days.  No pain, No gain right?  LOL  See you again on day 90!!!! P90x day 30 pics

I had my wife take my day 30 pics this morning.  As you can see I look really awake in the photos.  LOL  She is starting to get a little annoyed by my obsession for exercise, heart rate monitors and all of the like.  She says I have an obsessive personality, when it comes to things I am passionate about I would have to agree.  Go hard or go home right?  For the results I can see that I have shrunk all around.  I like the definition in my back ( tons of pulls up and chin ups) but I am kind of disappointed with the definition in my arms.  Belly is also getting noticably smaller.  I guess for the next 30 days I will be focusing more on my bi’s and tri’s.  I also have to note that I am not flexing in any of the poses, except for my back.  Maybe for the 60 day pics I will flex a little bit (and get a tan, HOLY CRAP I am white LOL) for my mental health.  Check out the pics below:

P90x The Beginning

Greetings, it has been a while since my last post. Exercise it obviously a major part of one’s overall health. For techies I believe it is crutial. Most of their days are filled by nothing more than sitting in front of a computer and maybe a short walk to the coffee pot. For 2009 I made a commitment to get back into shape. My tool of choice is the P90x Extreme fitness program. P90x is a 90 day fitness program that WILL get you in top shape, all that you have to do is make the commitment and stick with it. This involves doing the workouts and most importantly following a nutrition plan. I have paired the P90x routine with the “Eating for Life” nutrition plan and so far it has worked out great. I am currently in week 4 of the program. I will soon be following up with my day 30 pictures. I can see a huge difference already (mainly in my mid section). I can’t wait for day 90! Cheers

On a side note, I am using this for training for an up coming 25k trail run. The Hyner View Mountain Challenge. I did the challenge last year but only got through half of it due to an injury to my IT Band during training. I believe the injury was caused by overtraining certain leg muscles and a bunch of uphill and downhill running. Another issue was my flexability. I believe P90x will help tremdiously with it YogaX and PlyoX workouts for this event.

New Xbox Experience (NXE) Review: It’s Pure Improvement

Functionally, it’s hiding at least one killer app. Visually, it
’s a bigger jump than Windows XP to Windows Vista. Given that NXE is a mandatory update for anyone on Xbox Live, it’s a good thing we really, really liked it.

KB957257 and KB955466 Fail to Install

I deployed KB957257 and KB955466 today and both failed to install utilizing WSUS. I was able to download them individually from Microsoft’s website and install them without issues. I am currently checking into how to utilize WSUS to install the updates as I have a boatload of computers on my network. Check back or leave a solution if you know of one.

***UPDATE***

I wrote a batch file to copy the update (.exe) to the hosts and deployed it via a computer shutdown script in active directory.

Is Laser-Powered HDTV the Highest Def Yet?

“This, my friend, is the Mitsubishi LaserVue-65 in. of blazing, high-definition fury,” I said. “Is it a cheap LCD, like the one in your Man Cave? No, it is not. Is it a somewhat better plasma TV, like our neighbor has? Wrong again. The LaserVue is the first HDTV to be powered by lasers!”
